Job Overview
Clover Milk is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Operator to join our dairy manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating milk processing equipment, ensuring production targets are achieved, maintaining food safety standards, and producing high-quality dairy products in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate should have excellent attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a commitment to quality, hygiene, and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
⚙️ Machine Operation
- Equipment Prep: Prepare processing and packaging equipment before production runs begin.
- Line Operation: Securely operate milk processing and industrial packaging machinery.
- Monitoring: Measure and monitor critical control variables, including temperatures, pressures, and processing times.
- Line Adjustments: Assist with machine setup adjustments, product line changeovers, and support preventive maintenance activities.
🛡️ Quality & Compliance
- Inspections: Perform systematic quality inspections on milk and dairy products.
- Standards Adherence: Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Compliance: Ensure rigorous compliance with food safety regulations and work closely with quality assurance personnel.
- Documentation: Maintain highly accurate, clear production logs and operational records.
🧼 Housekeeping & Safety
- Sanitation: Maintain a pristine, hygienic work environment and conduct routine cleaning/sanitisation of equipment lines.
- Waste Reduction: Minimize product waste during processing runs to hit resource targets.
- Safety Protocols: Wear mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations explicitly.
🤝 Team & Continuous Improvement
- Fault Reporting: Identify and report machinery faults and line production issues immediately to supervisors.
- Target Focus: Work collaboratively to consistently meet or exceed daily production output targets.
- Stock Support: Assist with systematic plant inventory and stock counts when required.
- Development: Participate actively in shift production meetings, handovers, and training sessions to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
🎓 Education
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
- A National Certificate in Food Processing, Dairy Technology, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related qualification is highly advantageous.
🏗️ Experience
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing or dairy production environment is preferred.
- Experience operating industrial manufacturing machinery is advantageous.
- Prior background within the FMCG manufacturing sector is highly beneficial.

📂 Knowledge Requirements
Candidates must possess or quickly develop operational knowledge in: Dairy production processes, Food Safety Standards, HACCP principles, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), the Occupational Health and Safety Act, quality assurance procedures, production documentation, manufacturing equipment, cleaning/sanitation procedures, and packaging streams.
