The University of Limpopo (UL) is a public university in Limpopo Province, formed in 2005 through the merger of the University of the North and the Medical University of South Africa (Medunsa). Its main campus sits in Mankweng, on the historic Turfloop grounds near Polokwane.

UL is best known for producing doctors, scientists and agricultural researchers focused on the developmental needs of rural and underserved communities — a mission the university sums up simply as "finding solutions for Africa."

Applications are submitted through UL's official online portal — apply as early as possible for the best chance at your first-choice programme.

Before you start

  • Calculate your Admission Points Score for your top six subjects, excluding Life Orientation.
  • Gather a certified copy of your ID, and your Grade 11 or latest Grade 12 results.
  • International or non-SA school-leavers should apply for a USAf exemption certificate.

Submit online

  1. Go to the official UL application portal and create your profile.
  2. Select up to two programme choices and complete your details.
  3. Upload your certified documents and pay the R200 application fee.
  4. Submit and keep your reference number to track your application status.
